Gloucester Emergency Services remind citizens of tornado/storm relief deadline
The Virginia Department of Emergency Management is accepting applications for assistance related to the April 2011 tornado and subsequent severe weather.
Citizens affected by the tornado can submit an application to the Gloucester Emergency Services Office, 6504 Main St., Gloucester, by Monday, April 30. No new requests will be accepted after this date.
If an application is denied, appeals will be considered if new information related to a previously submitted application is made available. The deadline for appeals is June 30.
Additionally, requests for new forms of repair or furnishings or more are considered a new application and not an appeal.
