Free Virginia Symphony concert set for June 2
The Cook Foundation and Gloucester Main Street Association are hosting a family concert on June 2 on the lawn at Main Street and Walter Reed Way in Gloucester.
The Virginia Symphony is the headliner for the under-the-stars event. People should bring a blanket or chair to sit on. Main street restaurants El Ranchito, Anna’s Pizza, Olivia’s in the Village, Bangkok Noi, Rosemary & Wine and Jessica’s on Main are offering a 10 percent discount to people who eat at their restaurants before the concert.
It's OK, though, to bring food to the show. Boy Scout Troop 11 is also selling food at the concert.
Roads in the area will be closed from 6:30-10 p.m. Parking can be found along Main Street and in Gloucester County Government Building parking lots at 6511 Main St., Gloucester. Special-needs parking can be found by permit only at Newington Baptist Church, 6169 Main St., Gloucester, and the Church of St. Therese, 6262 Main St., Gloucester.
