U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary to hold About Boating Safety class in June
Boating safety courses will be held in June for all recreational boats and personal watercraft operators.
The course, offered by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and co-sponsored by the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, will satisfy the Virginia boating safety education requirement necessary to operate the watercraft.
Classes are scheduled for June 2 and June 9 at the Fire & Rescue Station #3 at 2676 Hayes Road in Hayes. The $20 classes are scheduled to take place from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The cost of the class includes a textbook.
All motor boaters 30 and younger and jet skiers must be certified by July 1.
