Lt. Col. Veronica Kouassi to command Fort Benning's warrior-transition battalion
Lt. Col. Veronica Kouassi has been chosen to command the Army's warrior-transition battalion at Fort Benning, Ga.
She was chosen by the Department of the Army for the position. Kouassi will assume command of the battalion June 11.
She was commissioned through the Army ROTC program at Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, Texas, in 1988.
Kouassi has more than 30 years of active duty and reserve military experience. Her teaching experience, gained while concluding post-graduate coursework at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, includes the Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind in Hampton, Gloucester High School in Gloucester and Denbigh High School in Newport News.
