Motorists using George Coleman Bridge should expect delays
Motorists should expect travel delays as the George P. Coleman Memorial Bridge on Route 17 will be closed to traffic Tuesday, June 26 and Wednesday, June 27 for maintenance work.
The Virginia Department of Transportation announced the southbound lane will close Tuesday. Motorists may be stopped for up to 60 minutes while crews repair the damaged traffic control gate.
Crews will perform test operations on the bridge Wednesday, and motorists traveling in either the northbound and southbound lanes can expect intermittent stops for up to 30 minutes.
