Co-parenting education program to be offered July 14
A co-parenting education program designed to prevent custody conflicts for divorced, separated, and single parents from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 14.
The program, offered by the Middle Peninsula-Northern Neck Community Services Board's Prevention Services Division, which will be held at the Mental Health/Ssubstance Abuse Administration Office, 13794 The Tidewater Trail, Saluda.
The program will help parents understand the importance of both parents having an active and involved relationship with their children. Parents will learn how divorce or separation affects children, how to talk with children about the situation, how to manage conflict and emotions constructively, how to take care of children during changes within the family and how to develop a co-parenting relationship for the sake of their children.
The cost of the class is $50 per person. Cash payments must be made in person at the Prevention Services office, 3786 George Washington Memorial Highway, Hayes. Money orders payable to MPNN CSB can be mailed to P.O. Box 452, Hayes, VA 23072. Personal checks will not be accepted.
Payments must be made by July 9.
