Gloucester All Stars defeat Rockbridge, advance to Southeastern Regionals
The Gloucester All Stars 12/60 Cal Ripken Major Tournament baseball team have advanced to the Southeastern Regionals in Live Oak, Flor.
Gloucester clinched the Virginia State Championship with a 6-4 win over Rockbridge in South Boston. Hunter Martin pitched a complete game for Gloucester, picking up his second win in the tournament. Grayson Womble knocked in the game-winning hit and two RBIs, adding on to Cody Buffington’s double and Cody Payne’s run-scoring triple.
Brett Lindsay was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.
The Southeastern Regionals in Florida will be Wednesday, July 18.
